CHRISTIAN MARCLAY | April 14, 2018 - Sala Fontana, Museo del Novecento, Milan
On the occasion of the 23rd edition of miart and the Milanese Art Week, Fondazione Furla and Museo del Novecento present Concerto Spaziale: a performance conceived by Christian Marclay, and the last event in Furla Series #01.
In the Sala Fontana, artist, musician and composer Christian Marclay presents an improvisation-based musical performance in which the sounds of instruments blend with noises made by using, striking, and rubbing everyday objects. Performing alongside him are South Korean cellist Okkyung Lee and Swiss percussionist Luc Müller, creating a free-form composition that mingles music with acoustic and visual stimuli.
The event dedicated to Christian Marclay concludes Furla Series #01: Time after Time, Space after Space, a performance-based programme that, from September 2017 to April 2018, has enlivened the Sala Fontana at the Museo del Novecento.
The Furla Series is the new multi-annual project by Fondazione Furla, launched in 2017 under the artistic direction of Bruna Roccasalva and Vincenzo de Bellis. It features exhibitions and events dedicated to renowned international artists, and organised in close collaboration with Italian art institutions.
