PAULINA OLOWSKA | March 6, 2018 - Sala Fontana, Museo del Novecento, Milan
For the fourth event in Furla Series #01 - Time after Time, Space after Space, the Museo del Novecento and Fondazione Furla present the artist Paulina Olowska with Slavic Goddesses and the Ushers, a performance inspired by Slavic mythology and folklore.
Drawing on her country’s culture, the artist stages fantastical figures wearing surreal costumes: goddesses of mischief, prosperity, fate, spring, winter, and the skies. Viewers are guided through this ceremony by four “Ushers”, mysterious presences who lead the visitors through a magical and evocative experience.
The event dedicated to Paulina Olowska is the fourth in Furla Series #01: Time after Time, Space after Space, a performance-based programme that, from September 2017 to April 2018, will fill the Sala Fontana at the Museo del Novecento with a range of approaches to this form of expression.
The Furla Series is the new multi-annual project by Fondazione Furla - launched in 2017 under the artistic direction of Bruna Roccasalva and Vincenzo de Bellis. It features exhibitions and events dedicated to renowned international artists, and organised in close collaboration with Italian art institutions.
