ADELITA HUSNI-BEY JANUARY 17 AND 18, 2018 | SALA FONTANA, MUSEO DEL NOVECENTO, MILAN
Museo del Novecento and Fondazione Furla present Libyan-Italian artist Adelita Husni-Bey, who for the third event of Furla Series #01 - Time after Time, Space after Space will stage Frangente/Breaker, a three-act performance that unfolds both inside and outside the museum galleries.
Taking a participatory approach to performance, the artist engages the public in a reflection on authorship, on barriers, borders, and nationalism, and on the perception of otherness within the complex landscape of contemporary life.
The event dedicated to Adelita Husni-Bey is the third in Furla Series #01: Time after Time, Space after Space, a performance-centred programme that from September 2017 to April 2018 will fill the Sala Fontana at the Museum with a range of approaches to this form of expression.
The Furla Series is the new multi-annual project by Fondazione Furla - launched in 2017 under the artistic direction of Bruna Roccasalva and Vincenzo de Bellis. It features exhibitions and events dedicated to renowned international artists, and organised in close collaboration with Italian art institutions.
