Alexandra Bachzetsis 29-30 November 2017 - Sala Fontana, Museo del Novecento, Milan
Fondazione Furla presents Swiss/Greek artist and choreographer Alexandra Bachzetsis, who will perform the Italian premiere of her piece Private: Wear a mask when you talk to me as part of Time after Time, Space after Space at the Museo del Novecento in Milan.
Alexandra Bachzetsis takes a cross-disciplinary approach that blends dance, theatre, performance, and the visual arts. Her work draws inspiration from many fields of mainstream culture, ranging from the entertainment world to fashion. In Private: Wear a mask when you talk to me, the artist portrays a vast range of stereotyped poses and movements that outline a constantly deconstructed and reshaped female identity.
The event dedicated to Alexandra Bachzetsis is the second in Furla Series #01: Time after Time, Space after Space, a performance-centred programme that will fill the Sala Fontana at the museum from September 2017 to April 2018 with a range of approaches to this form of expression.
Launched in 2017 under the artistic direction of Bruna Roccasalva and Vincenzo de Bellis, the Furla Series is the new multi-annual project by Fondazione Furla. It features exhibitions and events dedicated to renowned international artists, and is organised in close collaboration with Italian art institutions.
